Myanmar Frontier Missions is an
organization established in 1997 by Myanmar Union Mission of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church s officers with some laymen. In 2003
reconstructed meeting issued the MFM targeted only 14 projects in
middle Myanmar. The MFM is a supporting ministry, working hand in
hand with the Mission administrators and ministers especially the
place where there is no Christian living in.
The GC s a new policy has made provision for Divisions to recognize
independent organization as supporting ministries. Our current
situation leads the MFM to stand as an independent organization and
to support the mission. Now we are in the process of taking approval
from the union to be an independent organization with the aim of
supporting the Myanmar Union Mission. Our board meeting may be held
at end of November 2006.
Mission Statement
In cooperation with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the work of
MFM shall establish indigenous SDA churches among people groups in
Myanmar, where the church does not presently exists and where
social, cultural or economic barriers are present.
Goals & Objectives
Open up opportunities for more Myanmar SDAs to be engaged in
frontier mission service.
Provide an avenue for the laity to have a sense of involvement in
the mission work and raise the level of mission awareness among
Myanmar SDAs.
Develop the educational programs (Nursery School, English Learning
School, etc.,) and health care programs to glorify and reflect the
character of God.
Train Young people of the church and newly converts to be totally
commit to the Lord.

un-reached ethnic groups.
Send pioneers to un-reached ethnic groups and urban un-entered areas
to establish SDA churches.

responsibility to the local missions or union mission.

UPDATE JULY 5, 2006:
Fourth Discipleship Training: Meiktila
May 1-20, 2006
The opening program was on May Day. It was also the first
anniversary day of the Discipleship Training in Meiktila. By the
grace of God we could finished well the forth batch Discipleship
Training of Meiktila. We have 10 regular persons attended the
training from six different towns. They are ---Mr. Khaing Min Latt
and Mrs. Ei Ei Zung from Pakokku, Mr. Aung Ko Oo from Bagan-Nyaung-U,
Mr. Aung Kyaw Oo from Kyauk Myaung, Mr. Myo Min Aung, Mr. U Thet
Tin, Mr. U Kyaw Win, Mr. U Michael from Meiktila, Miss Ma Than May
from Thazi, Miss Cherry Thin from Pwint Byu. Five out of them are
continuing their Bible studies for baptism.
The discipleship training conducts three times a year in January,
May, September and our main prospects candidates we expected for
attending training are from our targeted 14 projects of urban areas.
Mr. Ko Myitta teaches about Christian Life, Mr. U Pong Myint
explains about World Religions and Christian Doctrine of Salvation,
and I teach the Bible Doctrines. Since U Pong Myint, a converted
from Buddhist background and Mr. Ko Myitta, from a Baptist
background, we plan them to get enrichment studies for Bible
Doctrines, Systematic Theology, Spirit of Prophecy, etc, at
Myaungmya Adventist Seminary in this school year. U Pong Myint will
attend the seminary on August because he would finish MA Bible
Corresponding Course during June-July. U Pong Myint is studying
Bible very hard from many denominational aspects. We plan support Ko
Myitta and U Pong Myint to live closely with Adventist society and
to study cover all SDA doctrines for one or two years within their
stipend.
At the midweek and last week of May we are going to encourage some
prisoners at Meiktila Jail. We would mention a little concerning
about our prison ministry by a brief. Started from August 2004
Meiktila Church Company committed to encourage some Christian
prisoners at Meiktila Jail once a month. Each time we could help
them some foods, medicines, and religious literatures. Last year
(2005 December 25) we’ve conducted Christmas inside the Jail with 28
prisoner attendances. If we do have fund we could conduct more often
worship services and arrange Bible Study Program in the jail. We
accepted the Christian prisoners who dismiss out of the prison we
help send them home. Currently we do not have yet any specific
program for the prisoners. During short days before they go home we
take care and convince them to study the Bible and attend the
training.
The training up to May 20 and during last week of May I have visited
to cover nine projects. Came back safely to Yangon and could serve
the Lord on my desk on May 30. Praise the Lord our Mighty God!
UPDATE
MARCH 20, 2006:
"We hope you will be happy to know
our current blessings received from the Lord. This afternoon we
ordered 20,000 copies of tract (Myanmar language) with art paper
cost at Kyat 300,000 (Three Hundred Thousand) sponsored by TEACH
International Inc. The appointment to receive is coming Wednesday,
March 22. We believe that the tract will help motivate to bring a
lot of people to our discipleship training in Meiktila. - Saw Thein,
Director MFM
"Myanmar Frontier Missions is a private organization reaching the
un-reached and supporting the Seventh-day Adventist Church of
Myanmar Union Mission in fulfilling its mission. It is a supporting
ministry, administered and operated by the MFM Board. It is an
organization that depends upon God to move people to support our
ministry. We train and send missionaries to un-reached tribal groups
in every part of Myanmar.
"The primary objectives of the MFM are to focus on the un-entered
urban areas and to reach the un-reached ethnic groups of Myanmar
with the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"We've started four experimental projects operated as pre-school or
nursery schools in Sagaing---Division level town; Pakokku----
District level town; Kyaukmyaung----Township level town; in June
1998. We raised funds from local laymen and began the above three
projects---Sagaing, Pakokku, and Kyaukmyaung. A month later Global
Mission provided funds for Pakokku in 1998, and again in 2000;
Sagaing and Kyaukmyaung by 2001. In Anisakan, a village level
project was started in 2001 with GM funds.
"On September 20, 2000, Elder Garwin McNeilus, after receiving good
news from Elder Mike Ryan, faxed me about an opportunity for
building schools and churches. They provided 20 buildings for
Rakhine State in 2001 and 30 building in 2002 for urban centers in
Myanmar. The buildings in middle Myanmar--- (14) are operated as
nursery schools and the rest are doing evangelism. On October 2003
the MFM board decided to focus on 14 specific territories to be more
effective in urban areas.
"During the last six years 20 primary schools in Rakhine front line
and 30 projects in urban areas---totally 50 mission centers have
been established with a total of 75 employed pioneers. A total of
537 souls were reaped. U Sandy Dee (retired President of Myanmar
Union Mission) said, "MFM has a great role to play in enhancing the
Global Mission work " (Myanmar Frontiers, Vol.2 No.1, 2000 issue).
"The nursery school program has been a successful dynamic program
approach to urban folks. We found that the program is one of the
outstanding approaches to reach the non-Christian community in
presenting and introducing the gospel message. The non-believers see
our Christian services as good people and many give support in our
school program. The four experimental projects with our six years
experience proved that new churches and church companies could be
planted in cities, towns, or villages and in convenient places.
"Elder Clyde Morgan came with a major focus on restructuring the MFM
in September 2003 and suggested to go forward with our evangelism
work. All our union officers were happy with it. Praise the Lord!
The Lord was answering our prayers by sending some one who helps us
with the needs for doing evangelism.
"The MFM annual and 6th anniversary meeting was conducted in Meiktila
on November 23-28, 2003. All 20 delegates from 14 difference places
of the MFM pioneers including my wife and I attended the meeting. We
evaluated our past and look forward and plan how we should better
serve the Lord. We began with a resolution "Unity in Christ" and had
commitments for Christ's service in the New Year.
"The MFM annual and the 7th anniversary meeting was conducted in
Monywa on November 21-28, 2004. The 18 pioneer delegates from 14
projects attended the meeting. The excursion group visited a copper
mine about 20 miles from Monywa and had a nice social games playing
near Monywa bridge. "We do have new strength and are ready to endure
any hardships or difficulties that lie ahead of us", said one of the
pioneers.
"We started moving the people to involve in the task of MFM ministry.
It is really wonderful. We do have many potential young people who
are serving enthusiastically for soul winning and church planting.
We found out training young lay people is one of the most important
urgent needs to extend Christ's Kingdom.
"We are raising funds for 2005 budget of MFM projects with a total
amount at Ks. 9 million (US $ 9,000) and we have received a total of
Kyats 2,903,188 (local and abroad). We still need more funds to
continue our mission work. The main sources of funds depend upon the
offerings of people who are longing for Jesus' return and have
eagerly dedicated their lives for the rapidly finishing of the
gospel work. Your prayers and concerns are greatly appreciated."
In another email, Brother Saw Thein gave us this report:
"Yesterday, U Pong Myint from Meiktila project reported, in Meiktila 6
persons from Bama Buddhist background are ready to baptize. This is
the result of U Pong Myint and U Tatli were giving Bible studies
about two months (June-July). Praise the Lord! Please continue pray
for our ministry and we continue praying for your mission." Saw
Thein
The Omega Project Ministries would like to see many workers funded to
take the Good News to these various areas. The monthly need for one
worker ("Kyats twenty five thousand") is USD $25.00. Yes, that is
right. For $25 per month, less than one dollar per day, you can have
an extension of your own ministry in the country of Myanmar! Pray
about your involvement in this worthy ministry and don't let God's
children in this country languish. Let's see how many workers can we
put into the field in Myanmar!

"And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will
pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and
your old men shall dream dreams: and on my servants and on my
handmaidens I will pour out in those days of My Spirit; and they
shall prophesy." Acts 2:17,18
